Recently, Shanghai LKtime Biotechnology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "LKtime Biotech") has obtained the "Shanghai Municipal Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) Laboratory Registration Certificate" issued by the Fengxian District Health Commission, marking a significant advancement in the company's biological drug development, production, and laboratory safety capabilities. With this certification, LKtime Biotech has expanded its capabilities for pathogenic microorganism operations (including viruses and bacteria) in its Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) services for pharmaceutical research and development partners.

Based on the level of risk, including the infectivity and harmfulness of infectious pathogens, international standards classify biological laboratories into four biosafety levels (BSL): BSL-1, BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4, commonly known as Protection Level 1 (P1), P2, P3, and P4 laboratories. The scope of work that P1-P4 laboratories can undertake is correspondingly divided and stratified, with safety requirements becoming progressively more stringent at each level.
